Boet was born in 1977 to a Tonga mother and a Sena father in Mhondoro, Zimbabwe. He moved to live with his grandfather when he was in secondary school and met the late Tinashe Makaza, a well-known sculptor at that time and began sculpting with him. He also got inspiration from other great Zimbabwean sculptors such as Samuel Masakwa, Dominic Benhura, Ignatius Zhuwakiyi, and Garison Machinjili. He began sculpting full-time when he was 20 years old. He was honored at the prestigious National Arts Merit Awards (NAMA) in 2010 and 2012. From 1997 to 2004, Boet was a resident artist at Harare's prestigious Chapungu Sculpture Park. His work was also displayed at the DED Guest House/German Embassy workshops and he was awarded tools and equipment. His passion for women and children is evident in almost every sculpture he creates. His work has also been exhibited in galleries in the United States of America, the Netherlands, and South Korea.
